Here is an update on some of our recent activities.

Two of our directors, Linda Thom and Judith Ross, took part in the very successful September 22 FedUpII rally on Parliament Hill. Linda acted as emcee for the rally and Judith made a presentation on behalf of the Association of Women Shooters of Canada. That presentation is also included on the AWSC home page.

The Association of Women Shooters of Canada was very pleased to note the government's decision not to proceed with its ban on "purse size" canisters of pepper spray. This was one of the things we asked for in our presentation.

Another of our recent activities was Judith's appearance on the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters television program which was devoted to discussing C-68. That program is due to air on TVONT @ 8:00 am January 30 & May 1 and on CHEX @ 7:00 am January 23 or 30 and April 24 or May 1 and on other stations and @ other times throughout 1999.

We have also been involved in an on-going way in discussions with various groups in and out of government about strategies to work toward the repeal of C-68. Judith will be attending the United Alternative Assembly sponsored by the Reform Party in Ottawa in February.
